This Girl's Got Moxie!!!

No not THAT kind of 'moxie"........


Moxie is a type of softdrink that can ONLY be found in New England and mostly only in Maine.....I LOOOOVVVED Moxie growing up...but in the last 20 years I've only had it a few times....once every 5-10 years..LOL


My Parents surprised me with a visit last week on their way to Maine to visit other relatives....we almost missed them, even, because of our Great Lakes trip.. but we delayed our trip for a day and got to see them and then they stopped off again on Tuesday on their way back home to Mississippi....on THIS visit they surprised me with the elusive bottle of "MOXIE".....

they couldn't have brought me a better GIFT!!! LOL...Thank God my kids don't seem to like it...so I don't have to share!! LOL

Another pair finished...Another knitted pair...I'm really enjoying Knitting these...I wish I had tried sooner..lol




and I finally made a knitted dishcloth.....for the Dishcloth along......I'm such a slacker...
I can even add it to the Mason Dixon group I'm with since it's from the book....LOL

Navy Graduation

Rachel's boyfriend Joe just joined the Navy and signed his life away..LOL

Another Day at the Beach,..

It's sooooo hot here there's not much better to do then head out to the beach...the water was wonderful and we all had a great time...both girls brought a friend and spent the day body surfing and jumping waves....

Finished my first Knitted sock!!!





Not too bad for my first attempt....they're a little 'primitive" looking....and little uneven here and there but not bad.....I enjoyed it ..already started a new pair...LOL

Here's the latest....this one I'm knitting..my FIRST knitted sock ever...I had a little trouble with the beginning of the heel but amazingly enough the rest of the heel was quite easy..LOL

I'm actually enjoying it.....and will probably do a LOT more....maybe I'll even tackle some of the more intricate designs soon

No I'm not going anywhere....but a very good friend of mine is moving away this month....here's what I've been working on the last week...and I just noticed it even fit in with project Spectrum...It's a scrapbook of fun times we've had the last couple of years...

....done in a purple and lilac color from Cascades Sassy Stripes...I like how these turned out ...they also fit with the Project Spectrum Purple theme for July.....two birds with one stone...

Brad's Birthday Dinner

Brad turns 43 on Monday so tonight I invited some good friends of ours over to help celebrate with a nice Birthday Dinner....I set a pretty table ...

Hit the thrift store today and came home with some bounty.......woo hoo...got ALL this for only $35.00

Ma Maison

Just thought I'd show everyone where I live...I LOVE this house and our property....
The View from the road....you can't even SEE the house these days...everything has grown so much...

The view up our drive....we planted these trees shortly after moving in..they were barely taller then the mail box back then....now they actually create a canopy over the drive...I LOVE it...

Our house now with the new addition, off to the right..a 2 car garage with living space above..

And finally I HAD to share this tree... we have no idea WHAT it is...when we first planted it it looked more like some weird 'plant' than a 'tree' ...heck it STILL looks like some HUGE overgrown weird 'plant"...LOL...this thing was barely as tall as Brad when we first planted it 2 or 3 years ago..now it's taller then the HOUSE!

Wardrobe Refashion

I've been such a slug...I'm supposed to update every week and haven't..I've been a really good girl though...no new clothing purchases for me since we started( which for ME is a major feat)...I finfished the crocheted dress for the Wedding....

and another where I'm wearing it ...that's me in the back with the big white purse...the dress turned out really nice.and looked great...I got a lot of compliments and quite a few people were shocked to hear I actually made it myself...thing is it was actually quite easy to make and really didn't even take very long...just a little over a week or so..I wore a black slip underneath.and added a little black ribbon around the waist...

SOS-Pairs #6 and #7

Finished these last night...


I really like these ..they are a tad thicker then the other socks I've been making so they'll probably make nice slipper socks in the winter...I LOVE the colors...

Working on..........

Sock #6......I'm doing this one in some old acrylic( I think) baby yarn I got off eBay years ago.....these are working up kindof 'thick' so I think they'll be more of a sock slipper then regular socks...but they are pretty cute....if I have enough I might make a smaller baby pair....and give them to my niece and her daughter...for Christmas...
