Wisconsin or Bust

The next few posts will probably be prolific ...I took tons of pics and it was a very busy week. I can't believe we managed to do as much as we did...I'm looking thru all the pictures and wondering how we had time for it all.

We left Early Thursday morning. Like REALLY early, about 2:00am. We drove straight thru and it was about a 20 hour trip. We arrived that evening at about 8:30 /9:00pm. One set of BIL and SIL stopped by for a short visit. We were exhausted though so they didn't stay long.

MIL practically lives on a Golf Course so On Friday Morning Commander and I accompanied MIL and her husband as they shot some practice balls. I didn't do any 'golfing ' as hitting a tiny ball into a tiny hole is not exactly MY idea of 'fun' , but I went along for the walk and fresh air, and to laugh....

After Playing 4 practice holes we all went back to the house for some lunch and then the house tours began. We had looked up some homes we were interested in online before we left.
Commander printed out some of our faves and did a quick look see. Not so 'quick" as it took all day to drive by ony a few homes. It was a widespread area though.

This first house was not too bad. It's on the FoX River. There wasn't much to the back yard though and it was a sharp drop to the River and didn't look like there was easy access.

I actually really liked this next house. Not the house, so much as the property...I loved the back yard and it's access to the Lake. This one was on Little Lake Butte des Mort.That's my truck there with the Hokie Parent sticker... :)I loved that it had it's own pier, and there was a boat house with a party deck on top!

This is the one I mentioned in the last post. This one is just down the road from the one above and was in a little better shape although it was very 70's ish. It had a really nice yard though with it's own pier as well. The inside really wasn't that bad and the the Views were awesome!Master Bedroom view.Living Room

Later that evening we met up with most of CDR's Family for Dinner at Pullman's.The kids came early and took advantage of the FREE Trolley Rides on Friday nights.
My SIL and I ...this was the only picture I got of myself thruout the whole trip.Drama Teen in one of the many babyholding pics....There'll be a lot of Baby holding in the next few posts as 4 of our Nieces have babies now...another niece is due next month..so it was Baby Central up there. We forced our girls to drink bottled water.....we didn't want them bringing home any 'souveniers"..LOL

Home Again

We are back from our Wisconsin Trip. We had a great time. A little bit of 'family drama" but that's to be expected when you go camping with about 30 of your closest relatives!! Over all it was a very fun week. We looked at a few houses( outside only), and saw a few we liked. We actually got to tour the inside of one, as the neighbor was out mowing his lawn and had a key to let us in(the owners live in CA now) . We liked it , it was a bit 'dated" ...think 70's,but was a lakefront home so I could have lived with it. We'd could have updated it. Commander has since decided to take the Job Offer here, so we wont be moving quite yet afterall. Maybe in a year or two we'll revisit the idea of moving to WI again. In the meantime we'll still be updating our home here, and getting it 'market ready' in the event we want to try selling next year. It's good to be home and good to finally know what we're doing.

ON Vacation

We are up in Wisconsin visiting family. I doubt I'll be updating at all for the next week as MIL still has Dial Up and it took me a good 15 or 20 minutes just to get to thre point of bering able to write this post...Forget about loading my blog......LOL

I have NO IDEA how she gets ANYTHING done on this computer!!

Look What I Did.....

I decided to go RED!! I've gone Red before so it wasn' THAT big a shock for me...but it's been a while and I've been missing it.....

Belated Birthday....

Last Thursday was the CDR's Birthday. Unfortunately it was also the day the girls and I were at JMU for Orientation. So we were unable to Celebrate with him. We did call him from the Restaurant and sang him Happy Birthday, and we bought him a JMU T-shirt while we were up there. We also Stopped at the Grocery on our way home and bought him a Cake...but it was late and he was too tired to eat any that night.



So after Mass on Sunday, our family was sortof hanging back putting our equipment away and chatting with the other Choir Members, when everyone started calling for CDR and telling us they 'needed" him out in the fellowship area....We had no idea what was going on....but one of the Ladies at Church who realized it was his Birthday last week and that the girls and I weren't home to make him a cake...decided to make him a Cake so we could all Celebrate this Sunday..I think he was pretty touched by her generosity ..I know I was..I almost Cried. Have I ever said how much I LOVE this Church and the People who attend!!

Bonfire of the Exes

Drama Teen and her friends decided it was time for a little cleanising ritual.. A Bonfire to irradicate their evil exes from their lives....While CDR got the fire stoked the girls started out with the Lava Lamp Drama Teen's ex gave her... they tried to destroy it. First they tried throwing it in the air and letting it drop to the ground. I didn't think the ground would be hard enough to break it and I was right...after a few futile attempts they moved on to plan B..

Lets try throwing it against a big tree.....Nope...didn't work....so on to Plan C....Lets throw a brick at it...First attempt did not work...but Second attempt...YES...sucesss!Awwww....It kinda looks like his heart......
Here is the pile ready for burning....Tennessee Vols pajama bottoms...assorted pictures and a card professing he would always love her........yeah right....now granted SHE was the one who broke up with him....but he did tell her he wanted to 'stay friends" and that he didn't want to 'lose her from his life" and then proceeded to ignore her and treat her like crap for the rest of the school year, including swaying half her friends against her... Lets start with the pants....where shall we ingnite first...oh yeah....there...LOL Yea!! Success! Now lets add a few pictures to the fire...like their Ring Dance pics....
